Refund policy

Short version

If Memophant isn't for you, email hello@memophant.co within 14 daysof your purchase and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. The 30-day free trial means most people decide well before they ever pay.

Who's eligible

Anyone who bought a Memophant license through our checkout (powered by Paddle) within the last 14 days. The window starts on the date of your purchase receipt, which Paddle emails you immediately after the transaction.

The 14-day window is global — there's no separate calculation for “days since first launch” or “days since you downloaded an update.” If your receipt is dated within 14 days, you're eligible.

How to request a refund

Email hello@memophant.co from the same address you used to buy, and include either:

  • your Paddle order number, or
  • your license key.

You don't need to give a reason. You can if you want to — honest feedback helps us — but it's never a requirement.

How the refund is processed

Once we approve the refund, we issue it through Paddle, who returns the funds to the original payment method (credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.) within typically 5–10 business days. Exact timing depends on your bank or card network.

You'll get an email confirmation from Paddle when the refund is processed.

After the refund

Once your refund is processed, your license key is deactivated. The Memophant app reverts to its trial state — you can continue to use it for the remainder of your 30-day trial if there's time left, after which the app prompts to purchase again.

Your memory — the notes, wiki pages, design docs, and code in your repo — is unaffected. It's yours regardless of whether you own a Memophant license, because it's plain markdown in your git repository.

Edge cases

Past the 14-day window

We don't offer refunds outside the 14-day window. If you run into a genuine bug or compatibility issue that makes the app unusable, email us — we'll work with you on a fix or, in rare cases, an out-of-policy refund at our discretion.

Chargebacks

Please email us before opening a chargeback. We resolve almost every issue within a business day. Chargebacks cost us Paddle fees that don't come back to us even when you're eligible for a refund, so a refund request is faster and friendlier for both of us.

Repeat refunds

The 14-day refund is intended as buyer's remorse protection, not as a way to use the full app for free in repeated cycles. We may decline refunds (or future purchases) from accounts that show a pattern of repeat-and-refund behavior.

Statutory rights (EU / UK)

If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have a separate statutory 14-day cooling-off period for digital purchases under EU/UK consumer law. Our 14-day refund window meets or exceeds this requirement and applies to all customers worldwide. Nothing here limits any non-waivable consumer rights you may have.
